Daily Baseball Blog

MONDAY
Ken and I started the week at Joker Marchant stadium Monday morning. We shot video of assorted Tigers we hope to do stories on. Leyland, Sizemore, Raburn, Damon, etc. as they finished batting practice around 11am we shot several interviews for our BCSN and WTOL stories and shows. Next we covered the Tigers/Braves game where we shot our stand-ups and fed them back to the station. Ken and I worked from about 9am till 6:30pm.

We have a neat story about two northwest Ohio kids working in the Tiger clubhouse for Toledo native Jim Schmakel; Cleaning up after 49 tigers and staff who dress daily for camp. Schmakel is in his 33rd year as clubhouse manager.

Tuesday we're going to morning camp in Lakeland then dashing to Viera where the Tigers play the Nationals. Rick Porcello and Eddie Bonine are among the pitchers scheduled. Then on to the Tigers/Yankees game on Wednesday.
