Three games into the season and the University of Toledo football team has already put up some eye-popping numbers. Here are some numbers that standout:
1. Elite offense – Toledo is the top team in the Mid-American Conference in scoring (46.0 points per game), total offense (552.7 yards per game), rushing offense (218 yards per game), pass offense (334.7 yards per game), and pass efficiency (177.4).
2. Defense hasn’t been as good – Toledo ranks seventh in scoring defense (29.3 points per game), sixth in total defense (369.7 yards per game), ninth in rush defense (220 yards per game), and second in pass defense (149.7 yards per game).
3. Individuals – Quarterback Logan Woodside leads the conference in passing yards per game at 334.7 and his 185.4 mark leads the conference in pass efficiency. Running back Terry Swanson is the top rusher in the MAC at 92 yards per game. Wide receiver Cody Thompson leads the MAC in receptions (7.3 per game) and receiving yards (130.3 per game). Diontae Johnson is third in receiving yards at 99 per game.
