Wauseon rallies from 16 points down to beat Napoleon, stay unbeaten


Bowling Green 41, Otsego 27

TONTOGANY — Bowling Green used several big plays offensively to pick up a road win over Otsego, which got four scoring plays from Mitchell Downs on Friday night.

BG’s Cam Nagel opened the scoring with a 72-yard run, followed by a 69-yard run from Brian Dible. Otsego answered with an 11 pass from Downs to Will Varner, but Spencer Rader tossed a 60-yard pass to Nick Jackson as the Bobcats led 19-14 at the midway point.

Dible had 10 carries for 156 yards for Bowling Green. Varner had 12 receptions for 117 yards for Otsego.

Wauseon 28, Napoleon 23

NAPOLEON — Down 23-7 late in the third quarter, Wauseon came back to win Friday night on the road in nonconference play.

Xavier Torres began the Wauseon rally with a 1-yard touchdown run, before Everett Bueter added touchdown runs on 9 and 20 yards to cap it.

Bueter led Wauseon (3-0) with 17 carries for 125 yards, while Torres added 19 rushes for 106 yards.

Dylan Unverferth carried 15 times for 144 yards for Napoleon (1-2). Tyler Bostelman added five carries for 107 yards.

Springfield 27, Worthington Kilbourne 14

COLUMBUS — A.J. Gucciardo completed 19 of 30 passes for 322 yards and two scores to lead the Blue Devils (2-1) over the Wolves (1-2).

Gucciardo connected with LaKeith Jackson for a 29-yard score and Adam Beale for one from 19 yards out. Jackson hauled in eight catches on the night for 206 yards, while Beale had six for 68 yards.
