St. John’s 26, Mansfield 21

MANSFIELD — Alex Gayle ran the ball 35 times for 256 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Titans to the home victory Friday night.

Gayle scored on runs of one, 30 and seven yards for St. John’s (2-1). The Titans other TD came on a one-yard scoring plunge by Brady Lichtenberg.

After the Lichtenberg score, Mansfield’s Christian Haney took the kickoff 76 yards for a Tygers touchdown.

Haney also caught six passes for 116 yards, including a 40-yard TD toss from Christian Haney and a 34-yard scoring strike from Angelo Grose.

Sandusky 16, Fremont Ross 15

FREMONT — Javez Alexander found Keith Williams for a 20-yard touchdown pass with only 39 seconds left, completing Sandusky’s road comeback.

Alexander completed 15-of-27 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns for Sandusky, which trailed 15-3 early in the third. 

Elijah Hunter added 31 carries for 108 yards, and Anthony D’Amico kicked a 29-yard field goal.

Hayden Lehmann threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Roger Burling for the Little Giants’ first score. 

Michael Contreras kicked 28 and 21-yard field goals, and the defense provided a safety.

Lehmann completed 14-of-27 passes for 158 yards. Burling had seven catches for 80 yards.
