After a long day of travel, it was exciting to finally get to Italy. Everyone on the team has been excited all summer for this trip, because many of us have never been overseas before.

Our flight to Italy arrived around noon local time (6 a.m. in Toledo). Our goal today was to get our bodies used to the six-hour time difference, since we will be playing four games while we’re here.

Our tour guide took us on an afternoon walking tour through part of Rome where we saw the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. The Spanish Steps have a different design, and there was a water fountain at the bottom of the steps where you could actually drink the water that was flowing out from it.

We ended the day with an Italian dinner that was delicious. The noodles were a lot thicker than I’m used to, and it was a good meal for us to help us get ready for our first game Friday night.
