Mud Hens’ 8th-inning error leads to loss in Syracuse

Almanzar drives in both runs for Toledo

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Adrian Sanchez scored the game-winning run on an error in the eighth inning as the Syracuse Chiefs beat the Mud Hens 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Sanchez led off the inning with a double, then came home on an error by catcher Bryan Holaday.

Logan Kensing (0-1) took the loss for Toledo, which scored runs in the fourth inning on Michael Almanzar’s sacrifice fly, then in the sixth, when Almanzar hit an RBI single, scoring home Jim Adduci.

Trevor Gott (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief. Rafael Martin earned his fist save this season with a 1-2-3 inning.
