Joe Bryce shot a 216 to lead Toledo to a tie for fifth place in the Hoosier Invitational last weekend.
Charlotte was the team winner at 841, followed by host Indiana, Bradley, and Drake. The Rockets tied with Fort Wayne.
Stephen Watts shot a 217, while Thomas Thurloway (219), Colin Joseph (220), and Spencer Shoemaker (226) rounded out the Rockets’ top five.
Toledo will be back in action starting April 15 at the Boilermaker Invitational, hosted by Purdue.
The Rockets dropped a tough match to Northern Illinois on Sunday. Colleen O’Brien won 6-1, 6-4, at No. 3 singles, Megan Miller won 7-5, 6-4, at No. 5 singles, and Claire Aleck won 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6 singles as Toledo lost 4-3.
The Toledo fell 5-2 on Friday at Miami.
Mimi Kendall-Woolsey won 2-6, 6-3, 7-6, at No. 1 singles. Aleck and Miller won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles, while Sidnay Huck and O’Brien won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
The Rockets have lost five consecutive matches. They are 8-10 overall and 0-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
Toledo returns to action with a home match at 1 p.m. Sunday against Ball State.
Women’s track and field
Five Rockets distance runners made a trip to the Stanford Invitational on March 31 and April 1, turning in some fast times.
Petronela Simiuc won Section 6 of the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:27.44, the fourth-best clocking for a UT runner in the 1,500 at an outdoor event.
Caroline Lambert turned in a 14th-place finish in Section 2 of the 10,000 in 34:21.50, also good for fourth all-time in the event outdoors.
Athena Welsh turned in a 20th-place performance in Section 4 of the 5,000 with a time of 17:22.62. Joan Jepkirui placed 23rd in Section 3 of the 5,000 at 17:15.01.
Jennifer Lichter also competed in the 10,000, but she did not finish.
