Rotroff scored 12 first half points, 10 coming in the paint. The Indians defense also did not give Elida many clean looks on way to a 19-10 halftime advantage.

Wauseon shared the ball well in the first half with eight assists on its eight baskets. Rotroff scored 10 points from inside the paint, including eight of the first 10 Wauseon points.

Elida came out with a more aggressive offense attacking the rim in the third quarter to cut into the Wauseon lead 23-18. Levi Seiler came off the bench to score two consecutive baskets for Wauseon followed by a layup from Gype to give Wauseon a 30-20 lead going into the fourth.
