Tyler Tudor, Eastwood
The 220-pound senior wrestler is coming off a weekend where he won his second Northern Buckeye Conference championship and was named outstanding wrestler at the league meet.
He is 35-6 and was a state qualifier last year, finishing second in his district. This year, coach Joe Wyant said he wants to get back to the state tournament and place. Last season, Tudor won one match but fell one short of placing.
“I think the best thing he has is he’s physically and mentally tough,” Wyant said. “Those are his best two assets.”
Tudor was NBC lineman of the year in football. In the classroom, he is a honor student. He has options for football and wrestling collegiately, including wrestling at Baldwin-Wallace.
Tudor will be back on the mat in the sectional next weekend.
Coach Wyant said if he stays consistent and beats the wrestlers he’s already defeated this year, he’ll make another appearance at state.
