Girls roundup: AW edges Delta with free throws

Perrysburg tops Central Catholic

ANTHONY WAYNE 50, DELTA 47

A back-and-forth game was decided down the stretch and Anthony Wayne held serve by shooting 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.

Delta cut it to a two-point game heading into the fourth quarter. Maddie Mattimore led Delta with four 3-pointers and 21 points. Abby Freeman added 15 points.

Abigail Yunger scored 13 for Anthony Wayne.

PERRYSBURG 62, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 44

Hailey Wenzelman had 17 points and Ashlynn Brown added 10 for the Yellow Jackets in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference game.

Perrysburg improved to 8-3 overall and 7-0 in the league by outscoring the Irish in each quarter.

Olivia Morrison led visiting Central Catholic (4-7) with 24 points.

FREMONT ROSS 56, TIFFIN COLUMBIAN 38

FREMONT — After Tiffin Columbian outscored Fremont Ross by 10 in the first quarter the Little Giants defense took over and forced turnovers to turn the tide of the game.

Mattie Overmyer scored 14 and Jazmin Bulger added 12 to lead Fremont Ross (8-3).

Maddie Brisendine scored 13 to lead Tiffin Columbian.

START 71, BOWSHER 26

The Spartans’ offense was lethal from the beginning, scoring 24 points in the first quarter.

Seven Start players scored at least five points. The Spartans were led by Mariah White's 16, Michal'a Purdue’s 12, and Mahogany Jackson’s 10.

Bowsher (1-11, 1-6 City League) was led by Jasmin McLain, who scored 11.

ARCHBOLD 57, HOLGATE 25

ARCHBOLD — The Blue Streaks stretched its lead after beginning to improve its rebounding in the second half.

Kierstyn Repp continued on her scoring ways with a game- high 14 points. Andi Peterson scored eight points and had 21 rebounds for Archbold (12-0).

Holgate (6-6) was led by Kirsten Hoffman's 7 points.

EVERGREEN 64, ADRIAN 22

ADRIAN — The Vikings went up into Michigan for an easy win where the Evergreen defense only allowed four points in the second half to Adrian.

Aylssa Noe scored a game-high 14 points and Abi Borojevich added 11 for Evergreen (6-4).

Keyera Buie led Adrian (2-7) with 8 points.

MAUMEE VALLEY 37, MONTPELIER 20

Shannon Herrmann scored a game-high 20 points for the Hawks (4-7) in the home win.

Marley Eich paced Montpelier (3-9) with six points.

BOWLING GREEN 58, ROSSFORD 22

BOWLING GREEN — Kendall Glandorff paced the Bobcats with 14 points, and Cailyn Overhulse had a double-double.

Overhulse scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for BG (5-6), while Ally Hart-Nichols had eight assists.

Peyton Theobalds and Sam Mikonowicz each had five points for Rossford (2-10).

BEDFORD 38, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 26

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Madisyn King led all scorers with 18 points for the Mules (5-5).

Melissa Roeder led Ypsilanti (3-6) with 10 points.
