Port Clinton Football 2014

08/27/2014, 12:00am EDT
By THE BLADE

Coach: Beau Carmon, second year

Last season: 0-10, 0-7 SBC

Returning letter winners: 18

Returning starters: Offense 10, defense 9

Schemes: Spread/‚Äč4-3

Top players: Seniors Tristen Mallory, 6-0, 225, DL; Keegan Lowe, 6-0, 220, LB; Stephan Daniels, 6-1, 205, TE-LB; Andrew Cline, 6-0, 235, OL-DL. Juniors Nathan Stubblefield, 6-0, 170, WR-DB; Brandon Moore, 6-0, 175, QB; Aidan Rospert, 6-1, 160, WR-DB.

Outlook: After a tough, winless 2013 season, the Redskins look to improve their lot this season with starters returning at 19 of 22 positions. There are 14 seniors on the 40-player roster, and Carmon sees improvement in team speed and overall strength. His major focus is finding some depth on the offensive and defensive lines.

Moore ran for seven TDs a year ago, and passed for seven as well. Mallory was a second team All-SBC selection.

“We will naturally be better than last year based on physical maturity and experience,” Carmon said. “Just being better is not our goal however. We understand where we are in the league, where we want to go, and what is needed to get there. The hard work these boys have put in during the offseason must be translated to the field on Friday night. Potential is nothing to us until it is proven.”
