Toledo third baseman Mike Hessman will compete in the Triple-A Home Run Derby. The Blade/Isaac Hale
44bf50b0-4b46-4a13-8372-0f0844072504Mud Hens third baseman Mike Hessman is one of three players who has been selected to represent the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.
Hessman has hit 15 home runs this season, second-most in the IL. He has broken the IL record for career home runs with 259, and his 404 career minor-league home runs ranks third-best among players in affiliated ball.
Jesus Aguilar of Columbus and Dan Johnson from Buffalo will join Hessman as the IL representatives in the event.
Allan Dykstra (Las Vegas), Mike Jacobs (Reno) and Francisco Pena (Omaha) will represent the Pacific Coast League.
