Hens, Gwinnett stopped by rain

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — The Mud Hens were trailing Gwinnett 1-0 Tuesday when the game was suspended by rain in the top of the second inning.

Toledo and the Braves will resume the scheduled nine-inning game at 5:05 p.m. today.

Duane Below started the game Tuesday for Toledo and allowed three hits in the first inning, striking out one.

Kyle Lobstein will pick up the action on the mound for the Hens.

A seven-inning game will follow today’s first game. Mike Belfiore will start for Toledo, while Cody Martin will start for the Braves.

SCHLERETH TO HENS: The Detroit Tigers acquired left-handed pitcher Daniel Schlereth from Pittsburgh and assigned him to Toledo. Schlereth, who pitched for the Mud Hens and Tigers from 2010-12, was 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA in 21 games this season for the Pirates’ Triple-A team in Indianapolis.
