Lexi Thompson, who, at age 19, recently became the second youngest major champion in LPGA history at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, has entered the 2014 Marathon Classic at Highland Meadows Golf Club, the tournament announced on Tuesday.
Thompson had a hole-in-one during last year’s final round en route to a third-place finish in her first Toledo appearance as a pro. Despite her age, Thompson already has four LPGA wins and earnings of more than $2 million.
The Marathon Classic, presented by Owens Corning and O-I, will be played July 17-20. The tournament also announced a two-for-one special on weekly grounds tickets is currently available at all area Kroger stores.
