INDIANAPOLIS — The Mud Hens dropped their second straight game to Indianapolis with a 6-4 loss Friday night after blowing an early two-run lead.

Toledo took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but the Indians plated four runs in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win.

Hernan Perez was the only Mud Hen with more than one hit, going 2 for 4 with an RBI. Drew VerHagen got the start for Toledo, surrendering seven hits and four runs in 5⅓ innings. He struck out three and walked two.

The Mud Hens (2-6) took an early lead when Ben Guez scored Ezequiel Carrera on a groundout to first. Blake Davis put the Indians in front 2-1 after he hit a one-out triple into center.

A three-run fifth inning put Toledo back on top. After a bases-loaded wild pitch from Indianapolis starter Jake Brigham, Perez singled home Jordan Lennerton to make it 3-2.

James McCann’s sacrifice fly gave Toledo two-run lead.

After an RBI single from Michael Martinez, Gregory Blanco drove in two more with a single into right to put the Indians (8-1) on top 6-4.
