INDIANAPOLIS - Jordan Morgan scored 15 points to help the Michigan men's basketball team to a 73-71 win over Tennessee in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament tonight at Lucas Oil Stadium.
No. 2 Michigan led 45-34 at the half but allowed No. 11 Tennessee to cut its lead to six points with less than six minutes left in the second half, then to one with 10 seconds left.
Nik Stauskas made the front end of a 1-and-1 play with 2.1 seconds left to give the Wolverines a two-point lead, and Jordan McRae's last-second 3-point attempt from mid-court went well wide of the basket.
McRae led Tennessee with 24 points.
Michigan (28-8) will face either Louisville or Kentucky on Sunday in the Elite Eight at Lucas Oil Stadium.
