BCSN Student of the Month Scholarship Program

The BCSN Student of the Month and Student of the Year Scholarships are available to select college bound seniors who will attend an accredited school of higher education in the United States in the Fall of 2011. The BCSN Scholarship Project Fund, Inc. will continue to award more scholarships in October of 2010.

This Year's Winner Shayna Hague of Northwood High School!

Shayna Hague of Northwood High School is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She is the vice president of the Key Club and she has been the class president for all four years. She is also a member of the Spanish Club and Yearbook staff. She is a standout athlete and is part of the basketball team and volleyball team. Shayna plans to major in Biology and Pre-med at Capital University before go on to medical school.

Information and Regulations
  1. Each month (October 2010– May 2011) a Student of the Month will be chosen from those applications submitted by the High School Counselors whose schools are located within the Buckeye CableSystem Service area (see below). Each student of the month will qualify for a minimum $1500 scholarship to an accredited school of higher education in the United States. The student will also be featured in a 30 second vignette “A Day in the Life” of the student for the month for which the student was selected.

  2. In May, 2011 all Students of the Month Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend an awards banquet hosted by BCSN.

  3. In May, 2011 one of the eight candidates will be recognized as Student of the Year. The Student of the Year Scholarship is worth a minimum of $16,000.00 which can be applied towards tuition, room and board (on campus), books and fees. The renewable scholarship will be awarded in increments of $4000.00 annually, provided the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. and full time status.

  4. Each high school in the *Buckeye CableSystem Toledo service area (see below) may submit one Student of the Month application per month for consideration. Applications must be signed and submitted by the High School Guidance Counselor and are due by the 15th of each month. Student of the Month Scholarship recipients are not eligible for resubmission.
